My Final Two Allure Beauty Boxes ~November & December 2016~

Info: I wrote this mid-December. I know I'm a terrible blogger Because I'm lazy and don't particularly care about this box anymore November and December will be combined. We're waist deep in the holiday season and I'm feeling cheerful, but not cheerful enough for me to write two separate posts. Plus neither of them are that exciting. So here we go the last two months of Allure. November- Party Central Red Flower Icelandic Moonflower Moisturizing Body Lotion (Full-size $26): This smelled like a very heavy floral, it kind of smelled like lilac's, but not enough that I wanted to throw it across the room. It was very thick though, I had a hard time getting it out of tube, but nothing a couple of shakes couldn't fix. It was a decent lotion, but I was happy to get rid of it. I'm picky when it comes to body lotion. Final Grade: C+ Bulgaria Omnia Crystalline (Full-size $82): Alright, this time around I knew how to open the bottle. I liked the coral...

Season's Best ~October 2016 Allure Beauty Box~

Ahh fall, otherwise known as when company's actually out the good stuff in their boxes. That's right, you get the good stuff September-January. That's how they hook ya and then keep you wanting more. That's right I have been around the subscription box block and know the drill. With that being said, Allure did well this month. Not everything was a win, but I would say the box as a whole got a solid final grade! Briogeo Don't Despair, Repair Deep Conditioning Mask (Full-size $36): This was a product I had actually already owned and I'm not gonna lie I rather enjoy it. It's kind of a strange mask, at least to me. You leave it on anywhere from 5-10 minutes and it somehow soaks into your hair and doesn't take long to wash out. Leaving you with luxurious hair all in the time it takes you to soap up and nair your legs. I agree that it isn't thick, but the floral fragrance is nauseating to me. It doesn't even smell like flowers it more smells lik...

Speed Dating ~September 2016 Allure Beauty Box~

After last month's box I had higher hopes for September's Allure. Unfortunately when spoilers came out I was #notimpressed. There is so much repetition in subscription boxes and I would like to see that change. That might be my fault though since I subscribe to 2 currently and some have repeat products. I appreciate getting new brands and Allure doesn't really send out new brands. Let's just say if I get another Pur-lisse item in my box next month I won't be surprised. Would it kill you to send something else out Allure?? Pur- lisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 Cleansing Milk (Full-size $38): Please Allure, no more of this! This is my fourth Blue Lotus line item in the 4 months I've been subscribed to this box. While I'm happy to be able to get to try something that is on the more expensive side/something I don't have immediate access too, but I'm over it. I've used cleansing milks/balms in the past, so I know the drill. These are good to remove mak...

Wake Up Call ~ August 2016 Allure Beauty Box~

I feel like my Allure box got here really quickly this month. Although they ship out in the first week of the month, this has been my first experience with that. I was terribly excited when the spoilers got released because there was one item I was dying to try and the rest was just great extras. Unfortunately they came out later and said that the one item I wanted wasn't going to be in every box, but some people would be getting it. I wasn't one of those people, naturally. We did get extra products though, so I guess that is a win? Probably not, but I guess you can judge that along with me. Freeze 24-7 Anti-Aging Eye Serum (Full-size $115): Holy bejeezus this is expensive. I'm not sure why I keep getting unbelievably expensive items in my boxes, but it seems to be a theme. If this stuff performs miracles for my ever aging under eyes I would consider buying it, but I still probably wouldn't. I won't be trying this for awhile anyways since I have too many eye cr...

On the Hunt ~Allure Beauty Box July 2016~

Another Allure box! I actually really liked my first month with then. They are $15 a month instead of $10 (like Birchbox & Sephora Play), which I don't honesty mind because I'm getting to try different brands than I have before. When the spoilers came out I was thrilled at what I would be getting. La Mer?! Uh yes please! I think this box got the most love out of the 3 last month. One product is currently in my nightly beauty routine and everything will get used up by the end of the year. Probably...who knows I've got a lot of stuff okay? No judging.  Clinique Chubby Stick Moisturizing Lip Colour Balm in Super Strawberry (FS $17):  Another product I've tried before, there's a theme here. The color I originally had was Curviest Caramel and its a very nice brown pink, extremely wearable. While this is a nice color in the tube, it has to be very heavily applied to get any color payoff. For me it's too sheer. My $8 moisture sticks from Neutrogena work mu...

Another New Subscription Box Review: June 2016 Allure Beauty Box

Yes, yes I know another box. I'm sorry I can't help myself. I like mini things and I like to have a lot of them. I am a beauty hoarder. Until there is meetings for it I will not admit my addiction publicly, just on here. Back to the box, Allure is a newly branded beauty box (formally Sample Society) that has been around for quite sometime. Before they got a makeover mid-2015 Allure was known for being a more expensive option ($15 a month) and sending out really really tiny samples from the same collection of brands. As an avid stalker of MySubscriptionAddiciton.com I can tell you that they have gotten a lot better.  So when a round of spoilers came out in April for the May box I had to have it! Apparently I wasn't the only one with that idea because they oversold that box. I was then told (after I contacted customer service twice) that I was to be getting the June box instead. I'm not going to lie the initial spoilers for this month did not wow me and I was regret...

Updates: Life, Subscription Boxes, & Popsugar Reading Challenge

Oh updates, I have a few of them. First, sorry for my absence, but I have some good reasons. I've been rather preoccupied with work stuff and also looking for a new job. Another rather awful update I haven't been into reading much lately. I've actually really been into a couple of new shows and binge-watching on Netflix. I just finished Nurse Jackie which was excellent and I've just started Awkward. Which I'm very much liking. As far as Summer TV goes I've been liking Braindead and two ABCFamily (I will never call it FreeForm) shows Guilt and Dead of Summer . Both are kind of good and probably made for 14 year olds, but what can I say they just speak to me. There has also been some great pre-Olympic action happening in National Championships and Olympic Trials. Huge Olympic fan, so that has also been keeping me from getting some reading in. I'm hoping that will all change soon, and I can kick my butt into gear and get back into reading & reviewing! I h...

Out of Doors! ~ May 2016 Birchbox~

I know it's been so long! I've been busy and rather uninspired. Now I'm just super backed up on posts. I mean I have stuff from March that I haven't even reviewed yet. I know I've been a bad girl. Until I'm ready to tackle all of the backlog, let's start with something simple. My May 2016 Birchbox!!! Again super lazy, don't want to waste a lot of time here, so let's do this! Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo (FS $24) : I've actually tried this dry shampoo before. I believe that it was a free mystery sample once upon a time. It's a good dry shampoo, not my favorite for the price. It works fine and doesn't leave that dry feeling like Klorane can do. Just for reference that's another higher end dry shampoo which is really good. And was also introduced to me through Birchbox. If you're looking for the real winner of dry shampoos try Batiste, it's $5.99 at Target. Winning! (do people still say that?)  Final Grade: B Cargo Blus...
