Everyday Magic ~ Birchbox June 2016~

Oh Birchbox, we meet again. This will actually be my second to last time reviewing a Birchbox. I will be canceling my subscription after July because they made some changes to their business practices, it was a big deal I'm kinda over it, so let's just say they're jerks. Anywho, let's get to my overall impression shall we? Not a bad month, although I did get another expensive perfume and I'm in love with it, so I'm kinda upset at that. I had a really great January and then the boxes dropped off in quality, so I would rate this box like the past few months, not good, not bad, just okay. Sample choice: Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Fiber Gel in Medium (FS $24): I was kinda happy this was out sample choice because I've always wanted to try this, but have never really pulled the trigger. I love a good brow pencil, and it wasn't until trying Glossier's Boy Brow that I discovered how fantastic and easy brow gels or "mascaras" could be. Thi...

New Subscription Box Review! June 2016 Sehora Play!

Sephora Play is still a relatively new subscription service from beauty retail giant Sephora. The subscription is $10 a month and currently has no waitlist (it may by now so please don't get discourage if I'm wrong). I was offered a spot in Sephora Play twice, but wasn't quick enough the first time to secure the April box, but I got in for June and I was so happy about it! There aren't any special perks like points for money in the shop or surveys to qualify yourself for a free box later on, but it does come with a "Play Pass". The Play Pass is good to use in store with any purchase and you'll get 50 extra Beauty Insider points on top of the points you'll be earning with your purchase. For more information on how that program works click here . I'm not going to lie the spoilers for this box weren't really doing anything for me. I think because I've tried or already own a couple of the products, so I was just like eh, but I was pleasantl...

Special Edition TopBox from RachhLoves!!!

I don't know about you, but I love me some Beauty Gurus! I've talked about my love for Tati Westbrook before, as I got up early to specifically pick her curated November 2015 Birchbox. So while watching another of my favorite ladies (RachhLoves) I came across a limited edition TopBox available for purchase, TopBox is a Canadian beauty box subscription service that is in my eyes enviable, because I've always liked what they've sent out. Since I could preview everything in the box and it was a good price ($19) I decided this was the perfect opportunity to try! The box came with 6 items and we got to choose 3 of them. I was actually pretty excited that we got to choose the color of the lip gloss and had a choice between a pair of Summer 2016 Essie polishes. The box had a value of over $60, so I thought it was a pretty good deal. I've put everything to the test now and I have come to some very informative conclusions! Nyx Butter Gloss in Raspberry Tart ($4.99) - Th...

Out of Doors! ~ May 2016 Birchbox~

I know it's been so long! I've been busy and rather uninspired. Now I'm just super backed up on posts. I mean I have stuff from March that I haven't even reviewed yet. I know I've been a bad girl. Until I'm ready to tackle all of the backlog, let's start with something simple. My May 2016 Birchbox!!! Again super lazy, don't want to waste a lot of time here, so let's do this! Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo (FS $24) : I've actually tried this dry shampoo before. I believe that it was a free mystery sample once upon a time. It's a good dry shampoo, not my favorite for the price. It works fine and doesn't leave that dry feeling like Klorane can do. Just for reference that's another higher end dry shampoo which is really good. And was also introduced to me through Birchbox. If you're looking for the real winner of dry shampoos try Batiste, it's $5.99 at Target. Winning! (do people still say that?)  Final Grade: B Cargo Blus...

This is Where it Ends by Marieke Nijkamp *Warning Spoilers*

A Book Published in 2016: This is Where it Ends by Marieke Nijkamp I don't want to take a lot of time on this because 1. I don't have much of an opinion and 2. this book wasn't very long. It did check a box off my list though, so we're getting there people. I know I'm behind, but that's something to discuss at a different time. 10:00 a.m. The principal of Opportunity High School finishes her speech, welcoming the entire student body to a new semester and encouraging them to excel and achieve. 10:02 a.m. The students get up to leave the auditorium for their next class. 10:03 a.m. The auditorium doors won't open. 10:05 a.m. Someone starts shooting. Told from four different perspectives over the span of fifty-four harrowing minutes, terror reigns as one student’s calculated revenge turns into the ultimate game of survival.   Alright let's do this! I'm not going to lie I thought this book would have more action.  Everyone is locked into t...
